Dealing with DateTime properties on entities

 If I return an object from a DataController with DateTime fields in it, they show up on the client side as string fields like /Date(1275346800000+0100)/. I've found a couple of blogs that talk about converting those .NET formatted strings into Javascript Date objects with something like var date = eval("new " + dateFromTheServer.slice(1, -1));

My question is where would I do something like this with Upshot since it is doing all the mapping deep within the library when it executes the GET requests, and then where would I need to convert back so that updates happen correctly. Also not sure how validation would work with this.
