Dealing with DTOs in Queryable actions

description

Based on this great article
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/webdev/archive/2013/02/06/protect-your-queryable-api-with-validation-feature-in-asp-net-web-api-odata.aspx

I have more input for the team wrt real world application architecture.

What we really need for a real world usage of Web API & Queryable is an article/docs & sample on how to use Queryable with DTOs (data transfer objects) in a Web API and not the internal entities.

What works, what not – what are the limits, etc.
Thanks.

We are working on type, property and namespace aliasing in the model builder. For full DTO we think tools like AutoMapper may help.

This got fixed with the model aliasing feature. You should see this soon on 5.2 Preview
