Is there any chance that System.Net.Http.Formatting can be part of .NET as System.Net.Http

I am asking this question w/o looking into it deeply but is there any chance that System.Net.Http.Formatting can be part of .NET as System.Net.Http?

It seems to me that System.Net.Http.Formatting stuff is so generic it can be used in .NET framework itself. for example, there are some handy HttpContent extensions under this assembly such as ReadAsAsync<T>, etc.

As far as I remember well, System.Net.Http started as a web api project and taken over by .NET itself. I thought this action can apply to System.Net.Http.Formatting as well.

I wish it does not. System.Net.Http.Formatting is open source and System.Net.Http is not.

@aliostad

You are right about that but AFAIK, we cannot reference .NET assemblies in a win8 metro app (I might be wrong). That would be great if it was part of the core for .NET for Metro style apps.

We are actively investigating providing formatting support for Metro style applications.

I am so glad to hear that Daniel.

Thanks for the information.
